I own the 1949 version  of the "shorter Oxford Dictionary".Its over a thousand pages long,diffficult to handle.Now I wonder what the longer Oxford Dictionary was like?

MUDDLED THINKING NO1

Well the thought that comes back to me now is that "COMMON SENSE" is not that common.Why start a blog with this sentence. You might wll ask ,but when I read or read about the really stupid things people do at times,one wonders what possesed them !
Well speaking of which ,its amazing how  some of the populace of the world went to pieces about the "end of the world" which was supposed to have taken place on the 12/12/2012 !
Of course are we missing the point ,as each second past is the end of the world as such will never occur again!So we should enjoy everything as far as possible and surround ouselves with serenity and positive thoughts.

October Update

In China and Japan manufacturing is slowing appreciatably.This is leading to them using less pretroleum products.This is likely to finally have an effect upon pretroleum prices with a downward bias in a couple of months time if not sooner!

Unsetling but successful couple of weeks -by barry

Well I was told that i could have a cataract removed from my eye by local anasthetic,there would be no pain.I don't like operations and I believed them about the no pain part.I think I should have stupid,gullible engraved on my forehead!
They told me to lie perfectly still while the injected me below the eye.The excrutiating pain of the injection made me jerk my head.I thought my throat was cut!
The held me down.Any way thank God it was a success.
The reason I had it removed was that i was unlikely to get my driving licence renewed again,with out the op.
I had no idea the colours in these blogs was so bright.for years before the op i thought the colours were dull.
I hope the licence inspectorate not read the following. I am going o tell them that i am doing the other eye a month later.I am going to do no such thing as i need at least five years to recover from this op.

 NOI am one of those unfortunate people that are allergic to most beauty products.Ordinary lipsticks and powder make my face seem puffy after awhile,so I do not use any run of the mill beauty products.I have to carefully choose my products and soaps .I usually use plain water with a mild disenfectant in ,or glyserine soap to wash my face and body.Silver earrings also  cause severe itch to my ears,gold less so and plastic no itch at all.
